There Will Be Those Days

There will be days where you cannot get out of bed. There will be days where you need to take a rain-check on your friends. There will be days that drag on and feel like a thousand pounds on your shoulder. There will be days you cannot pull yourself to look in the mirror.
And that is okay. Listen to your body, listen to the signs. To love yourself takes a lot of uncomfortable love. You want to love yourself, to feel happy, but you quite aren't sure how to get there yet. And honestly neither do I. But we can learn together. It is all about baby steps and little tasks. Healing is not easy. But you are strong and capable of anything you put your mind to. You may not believe that, but I know it.
It all comes down to the little moments that help guide you to the direction you want to be. One day you might be in the corner in your room wondering what you did wrong with the tears rushing down your face and you can't breathe. Here you feel a dark cloud over you, drowning you in rain. While other days you might be out with your friends smiling and laughing to the point of wheezing. Here you feel happy and unstoppable. It is so weird, how feelings work. You have to remember you can not be happy every single second of every single day. Sometimes the world crumbles and you have to crumble with it, just for a little while. Sometimes you need a break from reality before the pieces fall back together and you can rise above the clouds.
During these crumble times, you have to remember you have so many options and hands to help guide you. Friends and family. Significant others. The internet. Options are endless during this age. Even strangers will grab your hand and lead you to happiness. I mean that is how the best relationships start sometimes.
Just last year I was in my crumble spot. I was not strong, or that is what I told myself. Then I met him. He reached for my hand and led me to happiness. Sometimes you need someone to grab you and give you the little nudge of reassurance. You are strong and you just need to be reminded of that.
Sometimes these stings and falls are so bad, you can not even imagine a day where everything is going to be okay again. Feel these feelings. Learn your emotions. Find the weak spots and attack them. During all this, you may feel like you may never fix that crumble spot. But one day soon you will be driving home, windows down, music blaring from being with your friends, and you will feel unstoppable.
You will be able to sing that song and feel yourself start to understand happiness again. And the thing that led you to break will be in the past. You will understand life is not a straight line and it will pull you in all different directions.
You just have to keep getting up. Keep fighting. Soon you will see surviving is worth it.
You are worth it.
